Adrian De Lurendium TeamProject Personal Blog

Hi my name is Adrian and it was agreed that I should take the role of lead programmer for the game, including the ad-hoc networking that will connect the tablets when using the TriCade.

The main aspects of my involvement is documented below and mainly covers the coding of the networking between player tablets and any in game GUI elements.

below are some images of me hard at work, developing the networked tablet gameplay.

Many problems arose in the development of the networking between tablets and below is a list of the challenges this presented me.

AD HOC multiple connection service that had no lag time between player actions (well, acceptable to 1/3 of second was the goal)

A game screen UI that could inform the user of their attributes and current connectivity information to allow the player to understand if they were in a lone room or connecting to another challenger.

So that we could make the networking possible, I was to undertake the challenge of working out how to netwrok AD-HOC between three tablets, though if two were connected this would mean the third should be simple in comparison
