TRICADE & MO TAG
Welcome to TriCade.... The world`s first 3 player Tablet Agnostic Desktop Arcade System.
The system being developed is based on the premise of a three player arcade experience delivered through a bespoke hardware and tablet symbiosis.
Andy created these drawings from imagination, using original ideas and team influences where critique took place to further the model`s design.
The working design was unanimously agreed upon and alongside Andy`s experience in woodwork to keep us all grounded with what was actually achievable.
He then set out to create a structurally safe and integral hardware design that remained both visually exciting and practical.
Below are the initial concept designs by Andrew, that moved forward to become the template design for the TriCade.
Along side the Hardware, there was the requirement to build something that flaunted the advantage of a "third position" player.
We decided to build a game based around Tag, POM POM 123, British Bulldog, IT..... we like to call it ....mo Tag bitches !
The premise was to have two players pitted against one another in a game of tag (player flag capture)
Distinct player advantages by means of collectables can be obtained during game-play to give the chaser limited advantages to catch the player trying not to be caught, who is also able to obtain advantages in the pursuit of escape.
A time limit will defer a round win to the player who:
- Keeps out of reach of the pursuing player (the escapee wins)
- Catches the escaping player (the chaser wins)
- In the case of a final deciding round, each player score will be totalled and decided based upon most wins
Rounds are then split into best of three, denoting up to 6 rounds to complete a full game which decides the overall winner.
